This virtual session will focus on engaging First Nation Chiefs and Leadership, Technical Staff and Nation members in BC to discuss and provide feedback on the draft themes and recommendations of the Transportation Assessment Report (TAR).

The TAR is a key deliverable of  BCAFN First Nations Low-Carbon Transportation Project. It identifies key challenges, gaps, and opportunities First Nations in BC face in accessing transportation, including low-carbon transportation, and provides recommendations to implement transformational change. These recommendations will support BCAFN’s and First Nation-led advocacy to Crown governments and corporations for better policies and investments that prioritize transportation equity, accessibility, safety, reliability, and affordability, aligning with the needs and priorities of First Nations in BC.

Key meeting objectives include:

  • Discussing the next steps to advance the implementation of recommendations from the TAR
  • Providing an overview of the BCAFN First Nations Low-Carbon Transportation Project and the development of the Transportation Assessment Report (TAR)
  • Providing space for dialogue, discussion and feedback on the TAR themes and recommendations
