The British Columbia Assembly of First Nations is pleased to announce the opening of the 17th Annual General Meeting. This year the meeting is being held virtually due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, and the need to keep participants safe.

The AGM will be held over two days, November 17 and 18, and will involve discussion and passing of resolutions, financial updates and other business. Special guests include Minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller and Minister of Justice David Lametti.

This year the AGM also coincides with the election of the BCAFN Regional Chief, as well as the BCAFN Female Youth Representative.

Candidates for Regional Chief include Cheryl Casimer, ʔaq̓am, and incumbent Regional Chief Terry Teegee, Takla Nation.

Candidates for Female Youth Representative include Taylor Behn-Tsakoza, Fort Nelson First Nation, incumbent Jayde Duranleau, McLeod Lake Indian Band, Alicia George-Bailey, Aitchelitz First Nation, Brianna Wilson, Westbank First Nation.
