The Go Electric Emotive program, administered by Plug in BC (Fraser Basin Council), currently offers free EV test drive events for Indigenous communities in BC. Staff will bring an electric vehicle and an event kit, including resources about vehicle types, charging stations, and EV road trips. There is no associated cost to program visits or facility rentals, event insurance and volunteer rewards. |

BCAFN supports the advancement of First Nations' access to transportation in BC, especially with the increasing disparities and climate disasters impacting our communities. In accordance, BCAFN is undertaking the First Nations Low-Carbon Transportation Project. |
BCAFN is accepting Expressions of Interest from five (5) First Nations communities to participate in Community-Led Low-Carbon Transportation Pilot Projects. Selected communities will receive up to $65,000 to support their project. - Each selected community will lead the creation of its own self-determined Low-Carbon Transportation Plan that responds to the nations' specific needs, realities and priorities;
- Gap Analysis Report that identifies challenges, gaps, strengths, and opportunities found throughout the development of the plan and provides recommendations.

The Climate Action Secretariat (CAS) invites Indigenous Peoples, communities and organizations to provide feedback on the Net Zero New Industry policy. The policy is intended to help BC achieve its legislated greenhouse gas emission targets for the industrial sector by 2050. |
The Province is interested in the following questions: - What other measures can support new industry achieve net-zero requirements?
- Should there be limitations on how many offset facilities can use?
- Policy Impacts on Indigenous Rights and Title?
- How might policy impact communities?

Wetlands are critical habitat to hundreds of species, filter water, and mitigates flooding. Come join us to learn about the different types of wetlands and how to protect them. This entry-level workshop will introduce to the basics of wetlands and mapping, with free software. |
Clear Seas' Indigenous Internship Program is an initiative to conduct inclusive maritime-related research that integrates Traditional Knowledge and builds research capacity within Indigenous communities. Open to post-secondary students and non-academic learners across Canada. |
The program offers a 4-6 month, hands-on, paid, part-time learning and developmental experience. Participants work with the program team to conduct their own research or maritime related research topic of importance to an Indigenous community. |
BC has committed $200 million to establish the Declaration Act Engagement Fund (DAEF) administered by New Relationship Trust. To provide multi-year (4-year) non-repayable funding contributions to support First Nations' capacity to engage with BC on implementing the Declaration Act Action Plan. |
Funding available per Nation is $1,040,000. General eligible costs include staffing, professional fees, capacity training, community engagement, travel, and reasonable administrative or incremental costs. |
The Indigenous Food Systems and Agriculture Skills and Training (ISAT) program supports Indigenous Nations, communities, businesses and organizations in increasing Indigenous participation in agriculture, seafood, food processing and related community economic development initiatives. |
The 2023/24 program provides up to $80,000 in funding per project according to program objectives of increased capacity, skill development, traditional cultural, economical food harvesting and knowledge transfer. |
The First Nations Health Authority: Environmental Contaminants Program (ECP) aims to support First Nations projects that explore the link between human health and environmental contaminants. The program encourages community based study with traditional knowledge and empirical science. |
The Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER) has created a tool that provides guidance and support for First Nations who are interested in community-led action on watershed planning.
