The National Chief has recently announced a change in the structuring of AFN portfolios. In addition to the AFN mandated committees, portfolios now include the following four (4) Standing Committees:

1. ASSERTING RIGHTS
• Matrimonial Real Property
• Recognizing and Implementing First Nations Government (RIFNG)
2. IMPLEMENTING TREATIES
• Resource revenue sharing
3. CREATING OPPORTUNITIES/ELIMINATING POVERTY
• Closing the gap- advancing FMM commitments
4. INTERGOVERNMENTAL & INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
• Coalition building- urban
• Accountability/ information
