FNLC Key Documents & Developments

Since the formation of the FNLC, a number of political developments have occurred that have brought about a new political and legal landscape and, therefore, new opportunities for advancing common issues, including:

 

Dec 2010: British Columbia All Chiefs' Task Force (ACTF) Proceedings Report
Mar 2009: Recognition and Reconciliation Protocol on First Nations Children, Youth and Families with Province of BC
May 2008: First Nations Housing MOU with Province of BC and Government of Canada
Sept 2007: Endorsement of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
2007: In 2007 the FNLC drafted and endorsed an "Operational and Administrative Plan", which laid out the Vision, Principles and Goals of the Council as it moved forward
Nov 2006: Tripartite First Nations Health Plan MOU with Province of BC and Government of Canada
Nov 2005: Transformative Change Accord (PDF) with Province of BC and Government of Canada
Oct 2005: Public Safety Protocol with RCMP (twice renewed since original signing)
Apr 2005: New Relationship with Province of BC (PDF)
Mar 2005: Leadership Accord signed (PDF)
